3-12-24 Parent Letter for Brownell STEM Academy

Dear Parents of Brownell STEM Academy,

We hope this letter finds you well. We wanted to inform you about some exciting changes happening at Brownell STEM Academy. We would like to introduce two amazing leaders who will serve you for the remainder of the year. Dr. Shamarion Grace will be joining us as co-principal, working alongside Ms. Tabatha Shay. We believe that their combined expertise and dedication will further enhance the educational experience for the Brownell STEM school community.

In addition to the leadership transition, we would like to inform you that this year, spring break will start two days early. Scholars' last day before spring break is March 20, 2024, (full day). The reason behind this decision is that we will be renovating our Brownell until the end of the school year. Such a great opportunity for our scholars! It is important for us to ensure a safe and conducive environment for our students. To facilitate the renovation process, our teachers will need time to prepare and move classroom materials to Holmes STEM Academy, where they will educate your children until the end of the school year. In the fall, all Brownell STEM Academy scholars will return to their newly renovated school building!

There will be NO SCHOOL from March 21st through April 5th. All Brownell STEM Academy scholars and staff will return to school at Holmes STEM Academy (across the parking lot from Brownell on Oxley Drive) on April 8, 2024, at the normal arrival time (8:45 am).

We appreciate your patience and support during this time of transition and renovation. We understand that changes may bring some challenges, but we are confident that these improvements will benefit our students in the long run. We will make every effort to minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth transition.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents for their continuous support and involvement in our school community. Your partnership is invaluable, and we are grateful for your unwavering commitment to your child's education.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the upcoming changes or any other matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to address any queries you may have.

Thank you once again for your understanding and support. We look forward to working together to create a positive and enriching educational experience for our students.

Sincerely,

Kevelin B. Jones II

Superintendent
