Calendars for the District & ALA | Marking Periods | Instructional Times
As we approach each new academic year, we want to ensure that our families and community are fully informed about the upcoming district calendar, marking periods, and instructional times. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive schedule that supports the educational needs of our scholars while accommodating the planning needs of our families.
1. District Calendar: The 2026-2027 school year will commence on August 31, 2026 and conclude on June 10, 2027. Please note the following key dates:
Scholar Breaks/No School:
Labor Day Weekend - Sept. 4-7
Thanksgiving Break - Nov. 25-27
Holiday Break - Dec. 21 - Jan. 1
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Jan. 18
Winter Break - Feb. 12-15
Good Friday - Mar. 26
Spring Break - Mar. 29 - Apr. 2
Memorial Day - May 31
Staff Professional Development Days: No School for Scholars

2. Marking Periods and Trimester Schedules: Our academic year is divided into marking periods and trimester schedules.
Report cards will be distributed within a week following the end of each marking period or trimester.
3. Instructional Times: To maximize learning, the following instructional times will be observed:
7:50 AM to 2:40 PM

Holmes STEM Middle School Academy
Accelerated Learning Academy
Southwestern Classical Academy
8:50 AM to 3:40 PM
Brownell STEM Academy
Doyle Ryder Community Education Center
Durant-Tuuri-Mott Elementary
Eisenhower Elementary
Potter Elementary
Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time and is picked up promptly at the end of the school day.
